Shetland sheep originated in the Shetland Islands, off the coast of Scotland. Shetland is a conservation breed, and can be single or double coat. Shetland wool is fine with visible crimp. The average staple length is 4 - 6 inches, but can be a bit longer. Shetland wool is known for exceptional durability and the wide range of natural colors.
